Calling all maritime and China enthusiasts! It's that time of year again when Chinese dragons take to the chilly London water. That's right, The London Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival arrives in the capital this weekend.
The race kicks off on Sunday at the London Regatta Centre, Royal Albert Docks with plenty of culture, food and live music.
Dragon boat racing is one of the most popular water sports both in China and overseas, coming second on the Chinese calendar to the Chinese New Year.
The festival is billed as a great chance for everyone to experience Chinese culture, while enjoying the thrill of competing and raising money for charity.
Those popping down to the Festival can rest assure they won't miss anything, as the boat races go on for a whopping 7.5 hours with trophies presented at 5.30pm.
There will also be food on offer showcasing the flavours of Eastern Asia, live music on the East West stage and Martial arts and Tai Chi displays.
The tradition of Chinese Lion Dancing, whereby performers in elaborate costumes mimic the animals agility through mesmerising routines, will also be present.
Look out for the Sino Team too as we will be reporting live from the event!
More information on the free festival can be found on their website here.
