Last Days of Shoreditch announce anti-Oktoberfest

With just a few more weeks to go until Germany's biggest beer festival kicks off, organisers for Last Days of Shoreditch have announced an alternative event for those tired of the usual lederhosen, Weiss beer and salty pretzels. Namely, the Anti-Oktoberfest.

The festival starts on 29 September until 7 October and offers a hipster take on the classic celebrations. You'll still be able to drink beer and chow down on Bavarian bratwurst, but now you can do it amongst East London's trend crowd. Brave souls can also take part in special competitions, such as the bratwurst eating challenge.

Entertainment comes in many forms including dazzling street magicians, a David Hasselhoff karaoke session, a live Oompah band and Bavarian break-dancers. German comedian Herr Kuntz Wankmüller will also be your evening's host; it's no wonder that the event is already starting to sell out.

Organisers said: "It will be jam-packed full of games for grown-ups, live entertainment, crowd-interaction and challenges. If you’re looking for a traditional 5-hour sit-down sipping Weiss Beir - this isn’t for you."

The festival will be held at the timber-clad Last Days of Shoreditch Venue on Old Street, EC1V 9LA. There are three different packages to choose from and you can purchase tickets here
