Harry Potter enthusiasts get engaged outside the Hogwarts School

Harry Potter fan Kirsty Lunn was left stunned after her boyfriend Ryan Clark got down on one knee and asked her to marry him at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at the Universal Studios in Florida.

Ryan, 26, asked bypassers and fellow tourists to film the moment he removed a golden snitch shaped box from his pocket. The snitch, the ball used in the game Quidditch, held inside it a diamond solitaire ring which was then added to Kirsty's finger.

As soon as Ryan asked Kirsty to be his fiance she burst into tears asking "Is this magic? Is this real? ... It took her 30 seconds, which seemed like 10 minutes, to say yes. It was amazing. It truly was a magic moment."

Ryan says he had asked Kirsty’s father for permission to marry his daughter several months prior to the proposal. After confirming the holiday to the USA 18 months ago, Ryan thought it’d be the perfect location to ask Kirsty the big question because the couple are such ‘massive Harry Potter fans’.

Ryan met Kirsty, 23, who works for Leicester City Council, through mutual friends at a pub in Leicester three and half years ago and are now planning their perfect day.

The  couple are still unsure how the couple will get married. However, he thinks it will have to be abroad as the couple intend to travel the world.

Ryan added: ‘It is going to have to be something special to match up to the magical proposal.’
