Dozens Killed in Istanbul Airport Attack

Over 40 people have been killed, and at least 147 injured, in a suicide attack at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport.

Three attackers entered the airport at around 7pm GMT last night, and fired at people inside and outside the terminal. When they were targeted by police, they detonated suicide devices.

Binali Yildirim, the Turkish Prime Minister, has said that Isis are behind the attack, although no group has yet claimed responsibility.

Daily Sabah reports that the death toll could rise further, citing a medic who claimed that several of the injured are in a critical condition.

There have been over 30 terrorist incidents in Turkey during 2016 so far, leading to a decline in tourism by as much as 50 percent in some areas.
