Wang Jianlin, the 29th richest man in the World, has launched a $3 billion rival to Disneyland.
Wanda City opens in Nanchang this week. It claims to sport the highest and longest roller coaster in China, along with a retail mall.
The timing is significant, with Disney opening Disneyland Shanghai later in the year. Jianlin hopes to encourage Chinese people to visit a theme park with local heritage, rather than a Global brand, and plans a further 14 attractions around the Country.
Wanda City will provide jobs to 20,000 people, and will target 10 million visitors a year.
Disney aim to attract 17 million guests to their $5.5 billion park.
