Juan Mata has rejected a huge pay rise from the Chinese Super League in favour of remaining at Manchester United, according to reports.

According to the Mirror, Mata's representatives were "sounded out" about a potential switch to China, but the idea was rejected.

McDonnell added United will trigger a one-year extension on Mata's current deal with the club—which is worth £165,000 per week—that will tie him to the club until 2019, and his fellow Spaniard Ander Herrera will be handed a new deal.

But it's not only Juan Mata who is appearing in Chinese Super League news, former Chelsea star Oscar is eyeing a return to Europe, according to reports.

The Brazilian left Stamford Bridge for Chinese side Shanghai SIPG in January after they forked out around £60m.

The 26-year-old was also reportedly given a contract worth around £400,000-a-week to make the move.

But now, according to reports, Oscar is eyeing up a return to Europe in the coming months.
